Adventure Hunter

Terms of Rental & Cancellation

1. TERMS OF RENTAL

1.1. General and Renter's Liability

  • The renter confirms that they possess the necessary skills and physical condition for the safe use of the rented equipment (snowshoes, gliding snowshoes, pulks, outdoor clothing, and protective gear) in the terrain.
  • The renter moves and operates in the terrain entirely at their own risk. Adventure Hunter Oy is not responsible for any personal or property damage caused to the renter or third parties during the rental period.
  • The renter is responsible for their own personal travel, accident, or leisure insurance.

1.2. Equipment Transfer, Condition, and Proper Use

  • All equipment is handed over checked and in good working order. The renter must inspect the equipment upon receipt and immediately report any defects or damages observed.
  • Equipment may only be used in the terrain intended for it and for its designed purpose. Subleasing, transferring to others, or moving equipment to third parties is strictly prohibited.

1.3. Returns, Damages, and Excess / Liability

  • All rented items must be returned to Adventure Hunter’s office (Leviraitti 13) by the agreed deadline. A fee according to the current price list is charged for late returns.
  • The renter is financially responsible for damages, destruction, or loss of equipment:
  • Normal wear and tear: Included in the rental price.
  • Damage caused by negligence or misuse: Renter covers repair costs or spare parts (up to the maximum excess limit).
  • Loss or irreparable damage: Renter covers the full new replacement value of the equipment.

2. CANCELLATION POLICY

2.1. Customer's Right to Cancel

  • Timely cancellation: The customer has the right to cancel the booking free of charge at least 24 hours before the reserved rental period begins. Any paid deposit will be refunded in full.
  • Late cancellation: If the booking is cancelled less than 24 hours before the rental period begins, or if the customer fails to pick up the equipment without notice (No-show), Adventure Hunter Oy has the right to charge 100% of the booking value or retain the already paid rental fee.

2.2. Illness and Force Majeure

If a booking must be cancelled due to sudden illness, the cancellation must be made before the rental period begins and must be proven with a medical certificate upon request. In this case, the rental sum (minus reasonable processing fees) will be refunded, or the booking date can be changed free of charge. In the case of force majeure, the booking can be cancelled without extra costs.

2.3. Rental Company's Right to Cancel

Adventure Hunter Oy has the right to cancel a booking due to force majeure, sudden equipment failure, or safety risks. In such cases, all paid fees will be refunded in full. The rental company is not responsible for any indirect costs caused to the customer.

2.4. Interruption During Rental Period

If the customer returns rented equipment early, for example due to weather conditions or personal choice, unused days or hours will not be refunded.

3. EQUIPMENT USE AND SAFETY GUIDELINES

3.1. Adjustment and Use of Gliding Snowshoes, Poles, and Pulks

  • Bindings: Ensure bindings are securely adjusted to your footwear before heading out. Do not use overly loose or soft-soled footwear.
  • Poles: Adjust telescoping poles so your forearms are at a 90-degree angle while standing on level ground.
  • Pulk: Pack heaviest items at the bottom and center of the pulk. Secure the protective cover carefully to keep gear dry in the snow.

3.2. Safety in Lapland's Terrain

  • Weather and Extreme Cold: Arctic weather conditions can change rapidly. Always dress in layers. Protect your skin from frostbite during extreme cold.
  • Snow and Ice Conditions: Stay on marked trails or tracks known to be safe. Do not go onto the ice of water bodies unless the route is officially marked as safe. Avoid steep, heavy-snow slopes to prevent avalanche risks.
  • Daylight and Darkness: In winter, darkness falls quickly in the fells. Always carry a charged headlamp and keep your phone in a warm place.

3.3. Emergency Procedures & Contact Information

Keep your phone warm: Freezing temperatures drain battery life very quickly. Keep the device in an inner jacket pocket.

112 Suomi App: Download the official "112 Suomi" app before heading out. An emergency call made via the app transmits your exact GPS location directly to the emergency center.

In case of getting lost or an accident: Stay calm, find shelter from the wind, add extra clothing, and call the emergency number 112 or Adventure Hunter customer service (+358 45 869 3331).
